Beaches
In the coastal resorts of Momolithos, Kamari, Perissa, Mesa Vounou and Perivolos, in the southeastern part of Santorini, the most popular beaches are found.
The beach of Kamari is located below the hill of the ancient city of Thira. The beach is awarded with the blue flag. It is vey well equipped and it offers a variety of services.
The beach of Monolithos, is located to the north of Kamari. The visitor may enjoy a picturesque landscape here.
The beach is distinguished for the black sand present here. A good level of services is available here as well.
The unique beach of Kokkini Paralia, full of black pebbles and red sand, as well as underwater spas, is one of the most picturesque beaches in the island.
Close to this beach, Aspri Paralia is found, a beach full of white pebbles and white sand.
The popular beach of Perissa is in a distance of 7 km, in the southeastern part of the island. The black sand and the crystal clear water are the strong characteristics of this beach.
A camping area, very well organised, a scuba diving school, a horse riding school and a variety of water sports are available here.
Perivolos, is found in the extension of Perissa. Black soft sand is found here. A relatively quiet and well organised beach.
Going to the north of Kamari, a number of smaller beaches are found, as, Vourvoulos, Mpaxedes, Pari, Karterades and many others.
Finally Ammoudi is located below Ia. A strange beach since it has no beach at all.
