Transport
Ferries running on daily regular schedules offer transport between Piraeus and Santorini.
The trip to reach the island takes approximately 8 hours, depending on the type of ferry selected.
Connection between Santorini and the rest of the Cyclades islands, as well as Crete, is also available, especially during the high season.
Schedules between Piraeus and Crete, offer a stop over in Santorini.
Flights between the island and Athens and Thessaloniki are offered on a daily basis. Hydroplanes are also available for reaching the island, if weather permits.
A large number of chartered flights are landing on the island’s airport in Fyra during the tourist period. Airport is close to the village of Aghia Paraskevi, in a driving distance of 5 km.
Buses offer connection of the airport to the town of Fyra on a regular basis. It is only a tim of about 20 minutes to reach Fyra.
Car and motorbike rental companies have offices in many towns of the island, like in Kamari, Fyra, Ia, Perissa.
The transport in the mainland is serviced by the intercity buses.
